Newsletter | March 2025

The nights are getting lighter. Winter rust is dropping off at pre-season nets. Mowers are being coaxed out of hibernation.

Before you run off to wash your whites from last season, have a gander at this lot:

  • Get Set Weekend (get MCC cricket ready!) | SAVE THE DATE, Sat 5th and Sun 6th April
  • A first ever League Season for MCC Girls
  • MCC Women Go On Tour! | La Manga, watch out!
  • Match and Ball Sponsorship | Available for all senior fixtures
  • 200 Club and Bonus Ball Winners

SAVE THE DATE | GET SET WEEKEND, Saturday 5th April and Sunday 6th April

We can confirm that the club's  official Get Set Weekend will be Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April.

For those unaware, these are days where we get as many members as we can down to the club to ensure the club and facilities are ready and positively sparkling for the first games of the season.

There is loads to go at from painting, pressure washing, and prepping ground sheets to clearing out the scorehut so plenty of hands on deck would be appreciated.

If you can make it (or can lend a hand on a different day) then please let us know via email to mottramcricket@gmail.com. We will be making a start around 10am.

Girls Team Join the Cheshire Cricket League!

An exciting piece of junior news was confirmed this week as Mottram CC officially entered our Girls Team into the Cheshire Cricket League's U13s Girls Softball League.

We've had plenty of girls making significant impacts in our mixed junior teams in recent years, and long may that continue, but this is a pleasing and important step on the Womens and Girls Pathway.

We are also once again hosting our own Girls Softball Tournament at MCC on the August Bank Holiday (Monday 25th).

MCC Women's Team Embark On Their 1st Overseas Tour!

Our Women's Team will complete their own piece of history in the coming months too, as they jet off to La Manga for their first tour abroad.

From the 1st - 4th May, MCC Women will be joining forces with New Mills to take on allcomers in the La Manga Annual Women's Softball Tournament.

Making the trip for MCC are Captain Crudden, Keeper Rachel, VC Bate, Indoor Skipper Aimee and Diane, who as Community Lead shouldn't really be leaving the SK postcode region.

Over the 4 days they'll be mixing it with opponents from across the UK, Spain and ermmm...Hayfield.

Assuming they don't take the British weather with them, the 4-day trip will be perfect prep for their Annual MCC Tournament on Monday 5th May.

Go Well Maidens!
